DIY Websites – How They Work…
You use your own software to setup our websites. All you need is a photo editor (eg. Photoshop) and a text editor (every computer has one). Select and edit your images and place them in the directories we outline in the instructions and using a simple text editor you enter your textual content for the information pages. You then simply upload everything to your hosting service.
The DIY Websites are designed for non nerds and come with complete instructions… You will need to know how to do 3 things:
- How to resize images using your favorite photo editor (example: Photoshop) and save them to the directories we tell you to in the instructions.
- Use a simple text editor (example: Notepad on a PC) to enter your textual content and configuration information into the files we tell you to in the instructions.
- Upload the website to your hosting service.
It’s that simple! You then make changes to only the content you wish to change. For example if you want to replace images in a certain slideshow you simply delete the ones you no longer want and upload the new ones you wish to add. Some of our clients have created their new website using our DIY Websites in a single day but most clients take about a week. Selecting and re-sizing your images is 3/4 of the work.
We also offer support if you get stuck on something. Please remember that it is a DIY (Do It Yourself) website so we cannot walk you through the entire process but we will be there to help you if you have specific questions.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us.
